The idea is to promote art in all its facets and help artists to present their works in a context with strong symbolic and historical value, as shown by some historical photos that recall the past, in particular the Locarno region of the 1900s. A journey through the city of Locarno in the early 1900s.
The Menouno Art Gallery is an exhibition space that was created as part of the conservative renovation of the early 20th century building. The name “Menouno” refers to the location of the exhibition space in the basement. Until the beginning of the twentieth century, the space served as a store and was located at street level in the so-called “Saline” district. The space has a strong symbolic and historical value, as shown by some historical photos (photo Garbani) that recall the past, in particular the Locarno region of the 1900s.
The exhibition space was created with the aim of promoting art in all its facets: from photographs to paintings and sculptures. A place with harmony and collaboration between artists. The 70 m² space is also available for presentations, events, seminars or aperitifs.
